Brewers Give One Final Shout Out to the Fans that Supported the Team in 2011
By J. Brigham | Posted Tuesday, October 25
Our Milwaukee Brewers offered their thanks for all the fan support during the 2011 season. The team paid for a full page ad in the Journal Sentinel's midweek edition, and sent email subscribers a second show of appreciation.
The messages focused around the franchise attendance record that was set at Miller Park this year. Over three million fans packed the stadium throughout the season. That's the seventh best in all of the Majors, edging out big name teams such as the Mets and Red Sox. The Brewers set a franchise record with an amazing fifty-seven victories at Miller Park. They sold out thirty-seven of those home games.
Rick Schlesinger of the Brewers front office told reporters back in September that he believes the team's winning ways can be attributed to the consistently packed Miller Park. Schlesinger said that he overheard a number of players commenting on how they love the fact that when they come home from a long away series there will certainly be over 40,000 supporters ready to welcome them back.
Ryan Braun Loves the Fans of Milwaukee
Even Ryan Braun said that a major factor in his decision to commit to the team until 2021 was the incredibly passionate fans that show up for every home game. After six years in Milwaukee, Braun believes that there is no other team in baseball that has the kind of atmosphere that the Brewers enjoy when they are playing in front of a home crowd.
